Through a generous bequest from the estate of Roberta "Polly" Holden, a long-time resident of the Hopewell Valley and supporter of environmental causes, Washington Crossing Audubon Society has been able to establish a fund to support our work to preserve habitat for wildlife in central New Jersey. The Polly Holden Conservation Endowment will enable us to have a stable source of funding for such projects as biological inventories and surveys of land that is under consideration for acquisition or conservation easement, research into endangered species on public property, and educational programs to enlighten schoolchildren about preservation of habitat. Ms. Holden's estate also provided bequests to a number of other conservation groups in the area, and Washington Crossing Audubon will be working in concert with them. We are genuinely appreciative of Polly Holden's gift to Washington Crossing Audubon Society. We will work preserve her memory in the preservation of the wildlife and habitat that meant so much to her.
