Barbara Ross Washington Crossing Audubon has no nature center of its own, but WCAS members are welcome to get involved at New Jersey Audubon Society's Plainsboro Preserve which opened Spring 2003. Everyone willing to meet new people, have fun, and help NJAS grow, is invited to join its volunteer program. Opportunities exist to lead program participants in discovering the wonders of the natural world, assist visitors in the educations center, maintain and develop the facility, help with data entry, mind the store, and many more! The amount of time you devote is up to you. For some positions you can work at home. Volunteer benefits include helping foster greater cooperation between the two local Audubons, special invitations to volunteer events, recognition in NJAS newsletters, bookstore discounts, and volunteer only trips. Call 609 897-9400 for more information.
