Take A Turn At Super Science Weekend
Pat Sziber
Once again, Washington Crossing Audubon will be part of Super Science Weekend at the NJ State Museum in Trenton. This event provides and opportunity for children of all ages to get involved with science in a non-academic atmosphere and to learn that, indeed, science can be fun. Last year, more than 9,000 visitors came to the event. Our volunteers can attest that a good many of them visited our display. In fact, kids lined up to play our bird identification game.
So, why not unleash your inner child. No teaching experience required, just a willingness to help kids learn about birds and an openness to their enthusiasm. Everyone who has ever volunteered at our table has reported back that they are greatly rewarded by the experience. Our theme this year is "Birds and Their Habitats." We will also be doing a short slide-lecture program, "Forest, Field, Fen and Shore: Bird Habitats in New Jersey."
If you would like to volunteer to help out either (or both) days, even for just an hour or two, please contact Pat Sziber at psziber@molbio.princeton.edu or 609-737-1189. The hours are Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 11 to 5.
