The second Mercer Butterfly Count, sponsored by WCAS, will be held on Sunday June 20. We totaled 3132 individuals of 34 species on our inaugural count, July 19 2003. Since the 2004 count will be a month earlier, we can expect some different species.

Persons interested in participating in the count should contact Frank Bader at frank.bader@verizon.net or (609) 279-0881. Please give him some indication of your experience and skill in identifying butterflies, including skippers (the LBJ's of the butterfly world) so he can match beginners and novices with more experienced butterfliers.
