Fine fall weather brought out more than the usual number of volunteers for the semi-annual Hopewell Township Clean Communities Cleanup Day on November 4. Nine WCAS volunteers joined hundreds of others to gather up and haul away litter from just about every road in the Township. The chapter also hauled in some much-needed cash. A NJDEP grant to Hopewell Township, which is administered by Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space, pays $7 per volunteer hour to each designated non-profit. WCAS volunteers this round were: Angelo Auletta, Walter Barlow, Eileen Katz, Dan Longhi, Herb Lord, Barbara Ross, Pat Sziber, Elena Williams and Mark Witmer. We won't say which, but one of our volunteers is 83 years young! |
