WCAS Has A Presence At County Meetings
Pat Sziber

For many years, long-time board member and former WCAS chapter president Eileen Katz was our eyes and ears at meetings of the Mercer County Park Commission. Since Eileen’s passing in late 2007, we missed having that regular voice speaking on behalf of habitat and passive enjoyment of county preserves, especially her beloved Pole Farm. She was such a regular at Park Commission meetings that it was said they didn’t have a quorum unless she was present.

We are happy to report that, once again, we have a WCAS presence at the meetings. Princeton resident Fairfax Hutter, also a great fan of the Pole Farm as well as of Baldpate Mountain, has been attending the meetings and sending regular reports to the WCAS board. We are deeply indebted to Fairfax for taking on this task. She is performing an invaluable service by providing information to us and also by maintaining our status as an interested party.
