A field trip on Saturday, April 21, at 8:00 AM led by Juanita Hummel and Brad Merritt. This section of the D&R Canal State Park is bounded by the Canal on one side and the Delaware River, separated by two large fields being restored as grassland/meadows. The combination of wooded riparian habitat, edge habitat and meadows mean that a large variety of birds can potentially be seen here, including early warblers, swallows, bluebirds, grassland sparrows, raptors and wood ducks. Directions: Park in the lot off Route 29 (River Rd) by canal crossing just north of the Golden Nugget flea market. For more information, contact Brad Merritt at 609-921-8964.
